Jerrilyn Mulbah, the young Liberian girl who hit National TV on the platform of the West African Idol reality show back in 2007 might not have emerged as winner but never was she looked over.
The young vibrant singer at the age of 14 was chosen along with other fortunate Liberian children to sing alongside the Milan Children’s Choir of Italy for an event titled ‘Pavarotti and Friends for War Child Liberia’. She continued to train her voice and then, when another war broke in Liberia back in 2003, Jerrilyn relocated to Nigeria.
At the Idols, she pleased the crowd week in week out with lovely renditions and covers; she soon became a fan-favourite amongst viewers and even made it to the top five finalists which included singers Omawumi, Uche and eventual winner - Timi Dakolo.
Four years after, Jerrilyn is back with her debut singles, ‘Molejo’ and ‘Mr. DJ’. The former is an inspirational medley where she attempts to impress with her voice. Definitely a tune. ‘Mr. DJ’ forms a more cliché sound as the title suggests but Jerrliyn’s voice gives it in another style.
A buzz worthy path she begins to steadily work on with her voice. Thumbs Up.
